Maciej Mensfeld is a Polish luthier who began his career working at Defil in the 1970s. He launched the Mendsfeld brand in 1981 and ran Mensfeld Guitars until 1995 when he moved his business to Chicago. He also worked for Washburn and Lakland, but by 2016 was back in Krakow, Poland.
