Dominick Ramos has been repairing guitars and making pickups since the 1960s. He started out learning guitar repair and pickup winding with Dan Armstrong. He moved to Woodstock in 1969 where he established himself as a respected guitar repair and setup expert. He became best known for his hand made P90 pickups but over the years he was also making custom electric and lap-steel guitars. By 2023 he was in partnership with Michael West to produce his own line of Ramos electric guitars with 4 basic models: the DR-I, The DR-II, The Constellation and the Thunderbolt.
