The RamTrak guitar was invented by Jim Randolph. RamTrak guitars had their pickups mounted in a removable cassette. This allowed the player to swap different pickup configurations without even removing the strings. In 1998 the suggested retail price from RamTrak guitars ranged from $1499 (RG1-ST model) to $2279 (RGTB-ST model).
