Theo Scharpach was born near Vienna but soon moved to the Netherlands, His father was a watchmaker and he graduated with a diploma of Arts and later got a diploma in the restoration of antique furniture. He has been making guitars since the 1980s and his clientele include many famous players (such as Al di Meola and Steve Howe). He started out making classical guitars, and then added custom instruments, flamenco and archtop jazz guitars to his line up.
